History:

The club was founded in 1936 with an under 16 side, the team and the name originating from the local Holker Central Secondary School.

In season 1939-40 the club joined the North Western open age league, playing all their games on local playing fields. Junior teams were soon formed thus keeeping the links with their roots.

1967 saw the Old Boys entering a team in the West Lancashire league whilst retaining a team in the N.W.L.

In 1971 they moved from Thorncliffe Road to the current premises at Rakesmoor on land which was originally allotments. On the formation of the Furness Premier League the club entered two teams into this league; this still the case today.

Success for the 1st team arrived in the 1986-87 season when they became the West Lancashire League champions. This success was quickly followed by the winning of the Adidas Shield in season 1988-89 and 1990-91.

Committee members, players and friends all workeed hard to extend the clubhouse, build new changing rooms, enclose the pitch and install floodlights, all of which culminated in Holker being accepted into the North West Counties League in 1991.

Holker now run three open age teams and several junior teams down to age of 8 years, with the aim of ensuring the continuation of Holker Old Boys' Football Club for the forseeable future.
